Growing madder

i have been using the madder I’ve grown in the garden for the first time and got some wonderful shades of orangey red. I sowed the seeds three years ago and now have a good size plot. After three years the roots are ready to be used. They have to be washed and chopped into small pieces. Then you can use them fresh or dry them for later use.
